Westin Cancun Experience. Who has not dreamed of visiting Cancun! This Mexican paradise bathed by the Caribbean Sea, located on the Yucatan Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo.
Miles of pristine waters and beaches of fine white sand. A majestic sun throughout the year. A rich and extensive Mayan culture, which you can see through beautiful archaeological sites. Tasty food and all the countless activities you can think of: golf, horse-riding, tennis, or almost any water sport … Or just relax and enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Westin Cancun Experience
For the reasons above, this paradise located in Cancun could wait for me no longer; so I decided to visit when I could. Therefore last August, after a few days in magnificent San Francisco de Campeche, and about 5 hours by car (using toll roads) I arrived at the Westin Cancun.

It is well known that there are many good hotel chains in Cancun. Large resorts, all with excellent views and of course with great staff, but this time, my first time, I chose to enjoy at the Westin Cancun (#WestinCancun). I invite you to join me!
#WestinCancun
The complex is located in a quiet area between the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte Lagoon and is one of the first resorts at the start of these miles of beaches, pretty close to Cancun International Airport; Westin, welcomes us with its simple and elegant architecture.

The large, bright, and pleasant Lobby waiting with open arms, like all their friendly and smiling staff.

After the warm and professional welcome and check-in, we were escorted to our accommodation. A lovely comfortable Junior Suite of 60 m2, located on the fifth floor of the building, a floor exclusively reserved for customers and guests of the Starwood Rewards programme. With all the comforts, amenities and views from our room to the Caribbean, a spectacular sea. A picture of what the Westin Cancun has to offer.

We could have stayed hours watching and dreaming, but we had a special appointment at the Heavenly Spa, for which I confess, we arrived a little late.
In the Spa, we were again greeted with great professionalism and big smiles. Taking advantage of a complete package and its treatments with nearly an hour of massage, Jacuzzi, Sauna … counting equipment, services and personnel, everything to the highest level.

The Restaurant Arrecifes awaited us at 7pm for dinner. Decorated with the same relaxed style and taste as the other hotel facilities, it was the perfect place to enjoy the delights offered by its renowned chef and we were served with the upmost care and professionalism.

We retired early to rest in our elegant and complete Junior Suite. In a comfortable Heavenly Bed with the soft, soothing sound of the Caribbean Sea delightfully lulling us to sleep.

We woke up early. One of the sights that I recommend not to miss is the sunrise at the Westin Cancun. When the sun greets the new day. Sitting on the adjacent private beach, we enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful view.

Full of the beautiful sights, but with an empty stomach, we made our way to the Restaurant El Palmar, where we were offered a comprehensive and high quality breakfast.

Here you can start the day with freshly squeezed orange juice, taste many vegetable salads and tropical fruits, meat, fish, sweets and handmade pastries, teas and coffees. I do not think anything is missing, and as always, whilst enjoying a friendly, cosmopolitan atmosphere.

We could choose one of the hotel’s pools or go to play tennis, also one of the resort’s magnificent facilities; but we decided to spend the rest of our morning and early afternoon at the hotel’s private beach, sunbathing and bathing in the Caribbean Sea. We also enjoyed using the Royal Beach Club with its excellent services.

Perhaps the most touching part of the Experience at Westin Cancun, was to know that they have a programme to support turtle release, helping baby turtles to return to the sea. Unfortunately this time I did not have the opportunity to participate in the release, I hope to do so on my next stay in this resort.

I finish this post, with sincere thanks to the staff of the Westin Cancun, especially Nicolas Cejas, Manager of the hotel, for such a personal welcome and for providing all the necessary facilities to enjoy unforgettable days in the company of great friends. I hope to see you soon.
Thanks also to Zasha organiser of this adventure, for your kindness, and management of our stay in the #WestinCancun experience.
